Double Homicide Suspect Arrested As Fugitive In Connecticut

An out-of-state fugitive suspected in a double murder was arrested Monday, Jan. 29, at about 4:45 p.m. in Connecticut.

Connecticut State Police detectives from Eastern District Major Crime were contacted by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office in South Carolina requesting assistance in locating a suspect wanted for a double homicide in Aiken, S.C.

State Police detectives received additional information that the suspect, Jeremie Tobey, was at Windham Hospital in Willimantic. 

EDMC Detectives, Troop C-Tolland and Willimantic Police responded to Windham Hospital where they located Jeremie Tobey as he was about to be discharged.

Jeremie D. Tobey, 20, of South Carolina was taken into custody and transported to Troop C were he was charged with being a Fugitive from Justice and held on a $1 million bond.

Tobey is scheduled to appear at Danielson Superior Court on Tuesday, Jan. 30.

Detectives also located and seized a stolen car Tobey used in his flight to Connecticut.
